Greetings. I own an MD802 built on 10/26/2015. Hardware v1.00, system software v5.06 and firmware v.1.01. I told a friend about the tool and he purchased on built on 5/26/17. He has hardware v1.00, system software v5.02 and firmware v2.60. His tool has MUCH more functionality. He is able to contact many more control units than my tool.

I have downloaded Maxi PC Suite to my computer and have updated all available software but the firmware version remains the same. I opened a support ticket via email but I think I've hit a dead end with them. They just keep giving the same update instructions I have already used.

Is there a way to update the firmware in my tool? Or do another, deeper update?

 For instance: We work on a lot of Volvo cars. We have online and offline original VIDA but Autel is nice for a quick scan. Whereas my MD802 only contacts ECM, TCM, ABS and SRS, his scan tool contacts all of those modules as well as CEM, REM, UEM, DDM, PDM, DIM, AUM, etc, etc etc. I know he can read codes but I haven't played with it enough to know its bidirectional abilities if any. Its very frustrating that I can't get a response from Autel. Phone number is never working. Chat is never working. Email is fine and response is quick but I don't think they understand my problem. They direct me to a YouTube video which got me going in the right direction but was really not precise in its directions. I had to figure it out myself.
